They love all the creatures of the sea. They often are found conversing with the sea creatures. However, when the conversation ends, they devour their surprised prey. So unsurprisingly, their society values cunning and guile. The most respected merfolk have the best stories of betrayal and con artistry. However, betrayal against friends and family is frowned upon and those who do this quickly find themselves excluded from society. The males are feared for speed and teeth, which can break iron. The females are feared for their Siren's Call, a sound they emit which lures the prey of choice to its doom.
