Hello,

Nikon SB800 made a popping sound ( like in capacitor) the unit powers up, the display lights up, and it sounds like the cap is charging, but the flash no longer emits light. I would like to make sure that it is for sure the flash tube before removing it. Does anyone know if there is a solid fillament in the tube or is there a gap?
Any help greatly appreciated and or other ideas.
