Need help assessing where/how to get my Surface 3 Pro fixed.
A few months ago, I dropped it, but it continued to work fine. However, that night I put it to sleep, and the next day, it wouldn't turn back on. I worked it with Microsoft Support over the phone (and later again at a Microsoft Store), but nothing could get it back on. Pressing the various buttons did cause the power light on the cord to blink, so something is registering in there, but the computer wouldn't turn on. The Store said they could recover the data for $150, but it would require breaking the screen.
Fast forward to last week, and I was about to take them up on their offer, but I randomly decided to turn on the computer and it worked! However, like an idiot, I put it to sleep again, and it didn't come back on.
I've read (everywhere) that it's very hard to fix this guy, even if it would be easy once you're inside, due to the fragility of the screen. However, it seems like there's some way this still very functional machine might be saved given that it clearly could still work.
