Ubisoft, in a future update, can we PLEASE have an option to restart a mission?

Not a big deal, but on more than one occasion I have walked-fallen into a HOLE in the ground and NOT been able to get out!!

These "holes" can be found anywhere….I have found them near camp sites, beside stairways and just in general rocky landscapes.
I know it must be difficult to explore every square centimeter of terrain for flaws, but surely an easy "RESTART" function could save some drama?
I've used several techniques to escape these situations, dropping C4 and dying, waiting for the enemy to find me, then die….and if you use the fast travel to the nearest safe house, it could be miles of re-traveling to get back to your mission.
A simple 'restart' would be most useful
